Directions to A Place of Light

A Place of Light is located on Route 9 (374 Main Street) in Cherry Valley (Leicester).  Please do not park in the parking lot of Jan's Package Store.

From the Massachusetts Turnpike, take Exit 10 to Route 12 N.  At the first traffic light, turn left and continue on this road until the end (it will turn into James Street).  Turn left on Stafford Street and continue until you reach Ludlow Street (there will be an airport sign).  Turn right and continue to the end and turn left onto Main Street.  The Center will be on the right hand side about a mile later.

If you prefer a back road to the center, take Exit 10 to Route 12 N.  At the first traffic light at the gas station, turn left.  Immediately after the underpass, take a left onto Leicester Road.  Bear left at the first fork and proceed to Bryn Mawr Road.  Cross Bryn Mawr Road and proceed to stop sign.  You will zig to the left and zag to the right, going under the train overpass.  Continue to next stop sign, which is Stafford Street.  Cross Stafford Street and continue to next stop sign.  At this stop sign, you can see the center at 3 o'clock (fourth building to the right across the street).  Take a right and the driveway is the first one on the left.  There are many small animals of both the domestic and wild variety on this road, so please drive with care.  This is about a six mile drive.

From Auburn Street, the center is visible at “2 o’clock” (fourth building across the street) from the t-intersection with Route 9. Make a right then an immediate left into driveway.

From Route 9 going East, we are 1.5 miles from the intersection of 56 and 9.  Once you pass Mac's Auto Shop, it is only a couple of minutes!  We are on the left hand side and the drive is immediately alongside the green house.  Easy to miss!

From Route 9 going West, we are 2.6 miles past the intersection of Park, Stafford and Main Streets where the Hess Station and Burger King are located.  (Bear right onto Route 9 at the light.) On the right hand side, we are just past the guard rail on the left after the two hair salons and brown house.  The driveway is immediately beside the green house and is easy to miss.

From Route 146 (RI), Stay on 146 until you get to the end of the highway.  Turn left onto Cambridge at the light.  Stay on this road, Cambridge Street, until you pass Price Chopper.  At the first light past Price Chopper, get in the inside lane and turn left.  You will be on Main Street and need to stay in the inside lane.  After the first light, get to the outside lane and at the light next to the Hess Station, bear to your right onto Route 9.  The center is 2.6 miles past this light on your right.  You will pass the gymnastics center on the right and then two hair salons on the left.  The Center is on the right after the first green house.  The driveway goes right alongside the green house.  If you miss it, you can turn around in the parking lot of Jan's Package Store.

If you are coming from 495 going south, then get off at the Worcester exit, and then get off at the Gold Star Boulevard exit (12 South).  Stay on Gold Star Boulevard (it will turn into Park Avenue) until you reach the second Hess Station.  Bear to the right at the Hess Station (you want to drive alongside the Burger King), and the center is 2.6 miles on your right.  See paragraph above for more details.

The driveway, which is right alongside a green house, is a sharp turn and easy to miss.

It is not visible from the street.
