TESTIMONIALS FROM SOME WHO HAVE STUDIED AT A PLACE OF LIGHT
As a child, I was constantly given the advice “not everything you see in your dreams comes true, don’t trust it.” My abilities were attributed to an overactive imagination, and I soon learned to hide them. I grew up feeling alone, unheard, unloved, and like an outsider. I learned to avoid people and to hide a part of myself that was an important part of my survival: my intuition.
In 2022, I decided I have been alone in my journey long enough. I needed to find my people. I found A place of Light and was welcomed with open arms.
Yet when it came time for the yearly student retreat, I regressed back to self-isolation. I did not want to feel like the outsider one more time. But my new friends offered to help me.
They made sure I made it to the retreat. I am glad they did, for I realized while there with 12 strangers, I had found my people. I found a place where I felt accepted, safe, and cared about. I found a place of light.
Anyone who wants to find their authentic self should study at A Place of Light.

I have been battling depression and anxiety for almost my entire adult life. I felt lost and powerless and often assumed the role of the victim. This led to unstable relationships, lost opportunities, and even poor physical health.
This class has given me clarity and provided me with tools to move forward with life, instead of being pushed around my surroundings. I’ve even had people in my life notice the positive changes that have happened. I’ve heard that I am calmer, more level-headed, and more approachable.
Before coming to A Place of Light, I used to say, “I can’t remember the last time I was truly happy.” But now, I truly can’t remember the last time I was depressed. I’ve found navigating my and other people’s emotions has become less daunting, less scary. I now have practices to lean on that are based in love for all beings, including myself.
The values and practices taught in this class are invaluable. If you often feel lost or like the whole world is against you, it simply isn’t true. Life is what we make it to be, because we and everything around us is made up of the same energy. We just have to know how to pay attention.

Before coming to APOL, I felt a lot of anxiety and worry about my life. I was tired from expending energy on worrying about things I cannot control.
I have learned to listen to others and myself more clearly without as much distraction from my thoughts. This has allowed me to improve my relationships and truly connect with others.
APOL provides a space to learn from others without judgement. It is a place of calm where one can be grounded.

Before I came, life was confusing, angry, and lonely. I felt depressed, and I didn’t know who I was.
My greatest benefit was stepping out of my western beliefs and realizing life is so much more than my physical body. I have improved on setting my boundaries and learned to free myself from expectations of others.
I think people should come to class if they want to learn more about themselves and the universe. Class puts life in a grand perspective that makes you feel a part of something bigger. If you want to understand how deeply energy affects us and our lives, it will help you move through life without second-guessing every move you make.

Before coming to class, my life was hectic, confusing, and busy. I threw myself into activities/school/work/ to avoid myself and true life. I was angry, lost, and lonely.
Through coming to class, I have learned how to just BE, something so important, yet never taught. How to be in the moment, with myself and with others. I have found the true “meaning” for myself.
Take the class or don’t. That’s my advice. Everything I thought I knew was wrong. By coming/learning at A Place of Light, I have found true understanding and purpose.
Aren’t you tired of being so tired? Of doing “so much”? Of feeling extreme emotions and living by them, letting them run your life? Everyone deserves this very beautiful gift of peace. They deserve to give it to themselves. I’m so glad I did.

It’s hard to remember who I was before coming to A Place of Light. What I do know is I was always considered “sensitive” with a negative connotation attached. I was also unaware of myself and the world around me. I was “carefree,” because I didn’t know what else was out there. I felt very alone.
Now I have a clear understanding of my own energy and the world around me, and where the boundaries are. I am full of joy because I see things for what they are and let them be what they are. I have learned to heal myself, along with healing others. I am grounded and clear (most of the time anyway).
If you want a better understanding of yourself and the world around you, this class is for you. You’ll learn to connect and use your intuition, feel a sense of safety, feel energy, be grounded and more.

When I first came to A Place of Light, I was
I don’t do this anymore and saved myself.
I think others can also experience life in a more beautiful way by studying what is learned here.

I came to A Place of Light because of my curiosity in finding an answer to the question of “what is reality?”
The greatest benefits were that the classes gave me a sense of belonging and that my feelings or ideas were not "crazy." This feeling that finally I was getting an answer to my question allowed me to free up my mental processes.
The biggest benefit someone can get is a sense of belonging. Secondly, it would be an understanding of your nature/purpose.

I don’t recall when I started going to APOL but it was shortly after they had a fair at the church I attend. (2015)
I was coasting for the most part. I was giving APOL a try to see what they had to offer. I feel I had a sense of outside energies good and negative. In the movie “The Sixth Sense” the kid says “I see dead people. For me, I could best describe “I argue with dead people” This was rather difficult to resolve but it did eventually.
Another benefit is that I have learned to acknowledge many of my feelings, and when I feel there is something a person is trying to hide I usually sense it.
In short, as I explore other fields and open my eyes I see more out there, or I don’t let people try to fit me into their reality. I also do not try to force my reality on them.
I would encourage folks to look into APOL with an open and patient mind to explore your sense of self.

When I came to A Place of Light, I was in a greater state of emotional upheaval, a roller coaster. I was not as calm and more vindictive, thinking unhelpful/intrusive thoughts.
My greatest benefit was to have access to healing for self and others, looking at situations as a clear mirror, enjoying walking in love and compassion, and developing confidence in abilities. I have also enjoyed exposure to many energetic tools.
I think others can benefit by experiencing less nagging internal questioning and raging emotions, understanding the source of negative feelings and energy as well as how to address these, and by spreading love and compassion to others.

Life before joining A Place of Light was good, but full of questions and a desire to explore this intuitive stuff. From a very young age, I was drawn to and fascinated by these things.
My greatest benefit is being able to safely explore these kinds of things in real life and not just read about it as well as being able to perceive life through a fuller lens.
Darren, student since 2009
I have studied similar things since I was 12 years old, but coming here has given me confirmation of those efforts through the practices I learned here.
I feel others would learn a lifestyle of compassionate wisdom along with best practices to use in life.
